South Coast and New Forest

This area encompasses the beautiful coastline from Southbourne in Dorset across to Lymington in Hampshire, as well as the unspoilt New Forest.  Pretty market towns include historic Christchurch and Lymington.  There are also several pleasant and peaceful residential areas with easy access to the coast and forest: Barton on Sea, Highcliffe and Mudeford. The New Forest, famous for its free ranging ponies, has numerous pretty towns and villages.  This whole area is well served by a direct rail service to London Waterloo.  There are train stations throughout the district, coupled with fast motorway links via the M3, meaning you never feel cut off. The two regional airports, Bournemouth and Southampton, give access to destinations not only in Europe but now worldwide.  There are ports at Poole, Porstmouth and Southampton that serve mainland Europe.  The area is well known for its high-achieving state schools and excellent independent fee-paying schools.
